For its first two weeks, Nova Desktop opened on a busy control room: the laptop's health, services and cost on the left, the orb and the conversation in the middle, alerts and automations on the right. It showed everything, which is what a builder wants to see. It was not what Aman wanted to see first thing in the morning. Since 26 October 2026 every Nova window opens on Home: his day.
One look at the day
Home reads like a page from a planner. A Today card holds the date and one line about the day. Below it, the day's meetings sit as cards on a timeline, each in its calendar's colour, and Up next counts down to the next one with a ring. Further down is what is due today: tasks and reminders in time order, with anything that needs Aman marked so it stands out.

Mail shows on Home only as counts. No subject line and no sender reaches this page; the mail itself has a page of its own. Press H from anywhere and Home comes back. Press P before filming and the private parts turn into dots.
What is slipping
Since 28 October 2026 a Slipping card sits on Home. It lists what is starting to slip: a mail that has waited too long for an answer, a meeting today or tomorrow with nothing prepared, an overdue task, a pull request left open, a website build that failed. Most rows have a one-tap fix.
Fixed rules decide what is slipping, with no AI and no cost. The Dashboard counts the rows, the morning brief names them, and the most pressing ones reach Telegram, at most four a day and only in the daytime.
Brief me
The Brief me button tells the day out loud in a few sentences: what is on now and what comes next, where the free slots are, what is due and how many mails are waiting. It is filled in from a fixed template on the laptop, so it needs no AI at all, only Nova's voice. It stays quiet in presentation mode, during a meeting and while a recording runs.
A brief sounds something like this:
AMAN · Brief me.
NOVA · Next is a call at eleven, then you are free until three. Two tasks are due today, and three mails need you.
When a few sentences are not enough, Ask Nova puts one question about the day into the chat, and Nova answers there with the fuller picture.
Nova takes notes
The Up next card carries one more switch: Nova takes notes. In the laptop window, switch it on for a Google Meet on Aman's calendar, and at the start time Nova joins the call by itself, in silence, just as it joins when he asks. When the meeting ends, the notes come as they always do, and the summary lands on Telegram.
Note: the plan is kept in memory only. If Nova restarts before the meeting, it forgets the plan, and the card says so instead of pretending.
A calmer Dashboard
The old control room is still there. It is now called the Dashboard, and it opens on a calm overview: four count tiles for tasks, spent today, automation runs and services, then a few big cards and a strip of what finished. All panels brings the full grid back for the days when every number matters.

Cards on more pages
The same card language reached two more pages. The Mail page sorts both inboxes into Needs you, Worth a look and Skipped by Nova, and an open mail is laid out to read: paragraphs, lists and tables, with the earlier messages folded away. Its buttons do what the Telegram card does: Done, Draft a reply (saved as a draft, never sent), add to the calendar, mute a sender. The Social page opens in cards too: today's X draft waiting for his OK, what was posted, and the trends on X.

On the tablet too
Every one of these pages works on the paired tablet, upright and sideways, with targets big enough for a thumb. The orb keeps moving calmly in every view, so a long step never looks like a frozen Nova.

What this means for you
The dashboard still never shows a number it cannot back up. It simply starts with the part of the picture that matters most: the day ahead. If your mornings start across many apps at once, a screen like this is a good place to start.
