Nova Desktop is Nova's own window on the laptop. Since 26 October 2026 it opens on Aman's day, not on a control room. The busy view is still there, one tap away. This is a tour of the pages as they are today.
Note: every picture here comes from demo mode, which runs the whole window on made-up data. Nothing in them is real.
Home first
Every window opens on Home. A Today card gives the date and one line about the day. The day's meetings sit on a timeline, Up next counts down to the next one, and below it is what is due today. A Slipping card lists what is starting to slip, such as a mail that has waited too long or a meeting with nothing prepared. Brief me reads the day out loud.

Nova Desktop now opens on your day tells the whole story of Home.
A calm Dashboard
The old control room is now called the Dashboard. It opens on a calm overview: four count tiles for tasks, spent today, automation runs and services, then a few big cards and a strip of what finished. All panels brings the full grid back for the days when every number matters.

The Chat page
The Chat page is where Aman talks to Nova and watches it work. Beside the conversation, the Task panel shows the request, where it came from, the model that took it, a ticking timer and one row per step. Stop halts it.

The same page can show the whole Telegram or WhatsApp chat with Nova, read only, and its DAY button opens any earlier day. When Nova changes one of its own skills, a line here says so.
The orb
At the centre of the window is Nova's mark: a four-point star with a tilted orbit ring. Its colour and motion show the state. A slow blue breath means idle. Cyan listens, indigo to violet thinks, green to cyan works, a bright blue pulse speaks, and amber waits for Aman. The orb keeps moving calmly in every view, so a long step never looks like a frozen Nova. Motion off, on key R, keeps it still.
Honest states
When the window loses its link to Nova, or a source cannot be read, it says so in words. A banner gives the time of the last data and of the next try. No old number pretends to be new, and no number is made up.
More pages
- Tasks: one list for every to-do, each with an owner, a project and a step. Needs you, at the top, gathers what waits on Aman.
- Projects: a board of Aman's projects from GitHub, and a Clients view with only the clients he keeps.
- Mail: both inboxes in cards, sorted into Needs you, Worth a look and Skipped by Nova. Nothing on the page sends a mail.
- Social: today's X draft, what was posted, and the trends on X.
- Usage: what Nova costs, model by model and day by day, with every figure marked as an estimate.
- System: the laptop's health, Nova's services, last night's backup, and every step Nova's hands took today.

Made for filming and for touch
Aman films his work, so the window has two helpers. Presentation mode, on key P, turns private text into dots while the layout keeps moving. Demo mode runs everything on made-up data. On the paired tablet, the same pages work upright and sideways, with bigger targets for a finger.

Everything has a key: / to type, V to talk, M for the microphone, H for Home, P for presentation and Esc to stop. A single letter acts only when pressed on its own, so a sentence typed by mistake does nothing.
What this means for you
A busy assistant is only useful if you can read it at a glance. Nova Desktop starts with the day, shows every step while it happens, and says plainly when it does not know. If you are thinking about an assistant of your own, that is a good place to start.
